Home video study

We are planning new research on early childhood development of patients who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia or any other psychotic disorder as an adult. The goal is to learn more about early indicators, including neuromotor signs of vulnerability, by studying motor development through childhood home videos. In preparation for this research, we are conducting a survey to obtain an estimate of the number of individuals who may be interested in participation.

Eligible participants will be individuals, aged 18 or above, who have been diagnosed with any psychotic illness and have home videos that were made by their parents when they were a child.

If you are eligible and interested in learning more if plans are made to conduct the study, email the research office of Dr. Vijay Mittal at homevideostudy@northwestern.edu. (“Please do not include your name, address, age, state, zip code, or telephone/cell number.”) All responses to this announcement will be confidential. You will receive an automatic response verifying receipt of your email. If and when the study begins, respondents will be notified via the same email address and complete details on the research will be provided. In the event resources to conduct this research are not obtained, you will be notified by email within 2 years of the date of your email to us.
